Sarasota Florida Trip 2
In November 2016, we were off for 16 days to the
same destination as last December, Longboat Key on the coast of
Sarasota. Along the way, we took a full day to stop at several Florida
State Parks along the beautiful Suwannee River. We hope to go back next
year to kayak the Suwannee. We made a two hour stop at the quaint gulf
coast town of Cedar Key, then on to Crystal River. The next morning, we
rented a pontoon for two hours to check out the manatees. Then it was
off to Tarpon Springs, sponge capital of the world, another quaint gulf
coast town. Then on to Longboat Key. While in Sarasota, we visited the
Ringling Brothers museum and mansion, kayaked the mangroves, and more.
