New York City Trip 2
On 7/22/11, we attended Chris' burial service in
Long Island on the anniversary of his passing. It was sad, but we
know that Chris led his life to the fullest.
That afternoon, I ferried 18 miles to Bridgeport CT to visit Alan, who moved
there in June '11. The next 2 nights we stayed near Times Square in NYC.
On Saturday, Alan took a train down and spent the day with
us. We walked Times Square, had lunch at The Stage Deli, saw NYC from the "Top of the Rock"
(Rockefeller Center), took the subway to Chinatown and Little
Italy, where we had dinner to wrap up a fun day. On Sunday we took the subway to Wall Street, Trinity Church,
Old Customs House,
Battery Park and the World Trade Center site. After lunch in Greenwich
Village, Sue spent time at Macy's (largest
dept store in the world) while I took a leisurely walk back to our hotel. That evening, we walked to the NYC
Library, Grand Central Station and Central Park, where we took a
carriage ride through Central Park. What a fun trip! |
