Maggie
Prickett Walker, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November
13, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. Walker, Jr.
Also preceding her in death were her parents Theophilus Azariah and Exa
Arabella Parsons Prickett along with all seven of her brothers and sisters -
Tarpley, Elmer, Joe, Hilton, Mary Brown, Cordia McLean, and Bessie Litaker.
She was born in Verbena, Alabama and graduated from the Alabama School for
the Deaf. She lived in Montgomery for the past 25 years. Prior to living in
Montgomery, she lived in Birmingham and Atlanta. She is a member of Eastern
Hills Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Don (Pat) and Cliff (Sue); grandchildren, Donna
(Nathan), Donnie (Stacy), Stacey, Ryan (Heather), and Alan;
great-grandchildren Shayne, Harris Anne, David, Hudson, Pearson, Jack,
Cooper, Reece, Amelia, and RaeAnn.
Her favorite bible verse was John 14:6. "Jesus answered, I am the way and
the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Special thanks to Dr. Keith Hughes and his staff for the excellent care she
received over the past 25 years. Also, special thanks to Amedisys Hospice
Care for the excellent care they provided.
Visitation will be at Alabama Heritage in Montgomery, November 15 from 5 -
7:00 p.m. Service will be at Floyd Baptist Church, Verbena at 10 a.m.,
November 16. Burial will follow at the cemetery across the street.
Officiating will be her nephew Rev T. A. Prickett. Interpreting will also be
a nephew, Hugh Prickett.
The family wishes to honor her request that in lieu of flowers,
contributions be made to Eastern Hills Baptist Church, Continue the Dream
Building Fund, 3604 Pleasant Ridge Road, Montgomery, AL, 36109. |
