Europe Favs 1 - Move on to Europe Favs 2

From 1968 to 1970, I worked as an electronics technician for the Chicago-based Automatic Electric Company. My role was to help install and maintain the U.S. Military's global Autovon telephone network, which was designed to withstand a nuclear attack. My first assignment took me to the Autovon site atop Mount Vergine, 35 miles east of Naples, Italy. After completion of the site, we turned it over to the military and I moved on to help with the Autovon site in Humosa, 55 miles east of Madrid, Spain. After Humosa, my third and final assignment was the Autovon site at Langerkopf, 25 miles south of Kaiserslautern, Germany. These are some of my favorite photos from those days.

My fondest memory was working atop atop Mt. Vergine near Avellino, Italy. See Video Here.
